There are dozens of different bitcoin wallets to choose from if you want to gamble with BTC. What is your favourite?

I'm an iPhone user so my personal favourite is Breadwallet. Here's why I like it.
    • You have total control over your bitcoin and you are free to do whatever you like with them. Since Breadwallet connects directly to the bitcoin networks, there is no central authority to stop you using your bitcoin at a sportsbook, poker room or casino.
    • The simplicity of the design is great. There are just 2 screens, one for sending and another for receiving bitcoin. It doesn't get much easier for a newbie.
    • While the fee calculator could be better in my opinion, most of my transactions get included in the next couple of blocks.
    • Breadwallet is open source so you have thousands of eyes examining the code for problems.

However, with freedom comes responsibility. You have 100% control over your BTC with Breadwallet. There is no call centre you can phone or email if there is a problem so please be careful and keep your back-up phrase safe.

For anyone with an Android phone it's gotta be Mycelium all the way. You control your own keys, it's open source and it's compatible with a Trezor. Works great on my Samsung Galaxy S6. You can download the Mycelium wallet from Google Play for free here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycelium.wallet

Most importantly, since you keep custody of your bitcoin you can do whatever you like with them. You can send and receive BTC to and from any type of gambling site without any issues.

There are currently a number of fake bitcoin wallets in the iOS App Store that will steal your bitcoin if you make a deposit. Even though these fake BTC wallets will get removed, this is going to be an ongoing problem so please be vigilant.

I bought the new Ledger Nano S that's so small I use it as a key-ring wallet. Plus it's infinitely more secure than something like Mycelium or breadwallet.

I run a full Bitcoin Core node on a spare PC. SPV wallets are OK for small change but if you are making large transactions you can't beat the security of a full node.

I use Electrum on my desktop as my main BTC wallet but I'm thinking of switching to a hardware wallet because I keep reading about malware that will steal the private keys from your PC's. I have downloaded lots of torrents over the years and some free software programs so I'm not sure how safe my machine is.

The IRS have filed a court motion demanding Coinbase handover information on all their customers. If you are a US gamblers who is using Coinbase to hide income, then you might want to find another wallet.

Circle.com was one of the most popular bitcoin wallets because of how easy they integrated with bank accounts in the United States but unfortunately, they have now pivoted away from bitcoin. Coinbase is probably the best option for buying and selling coins in the the US right now.

The newest bitcoin wallet on the block is Mobi.me from Chinese exchange and pool operator BTCC.com. What's different about this hosted wallet is that the wallet is linked to your phone number. You can also instantly convert your BTC to over 60 currencies, including the dollar, euro, yuan and pound. You can then send this fiat currency to a friend using just their phone number. Since there isn't a KYC/AML procedure, the Mobi.me wallet might be useful for online gamblers.

I don't know if they enforce their own rules, but Xapo does not permit their customers to use bitcoin for online gambling purposes. I don't think they are as strict as Coinbase about this so you might be OK but you should be aware.

The Mobi.me wallet from BTCC now has a debit card that is available in dollars, pounds and euros. It's one of the better designed wallets also.

I just received my new Trezor Model T today. I'm really looking forward to getting it set up. I'm just disappointed that it doesn't support Monero.
