Which bitcoin poker sites are available in Australia?

If any of you have been following the online gambling world in Australia they will probably be aware that the Australian government are enforcing a whole range of anti-gambling legislation that will effectively ban online poker rooms and casinos. 888poker have already left Australia and PartyPoker, PokerStars, Full Tilt and every other major poker site plan to do the same in the coming weeks.

I'm hoping that bitcoin poker rooms will fill the gap left by these major poker sites. Can anyone tell me what the best option is for poker players from Australia who would like to play online and from their smartphone?

It's ridiculous that adults in Australia are not being allowed to play real-money Texas Hold'em or Omaha in their free time if they wish to. Australia is turning into a nanny state. Anyway, this is a great opportunity for bitcoin poker rooms to become more popular down-under. Here are out recommendations for the best bitcoin friendly poker sites that welcome Aussies.

    IGNITION CASINO AUSTRALIA - WWW.IGNITIONCASINO.EU
    • If you want to play real money poker in Australia at a major poker room then right now this is your only option.
    • Part of the same poker network as Bodog and Bovada so this is a high traffic poker network with action at all levels day or night.
    • Deposit and withdrawals for free with either Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash and withdrawals usually take less than 24 hours.
    • Uses same PC and Mac poker software as Bodog/Bovada.
    • Ring games, tournaments and Sit & Go's available to Australian 24/7.
    • iPhone and Android app offers cash games, speed poker and Sit & Go tournaments.

    NITROGEN SPORTS AUSTRALIA - CLOSED
    • Nitrogen is a poker room that exclusively accepts bitcoin. This means that there is no KYC or AML so Aussies are free to sign-up instantly by just providing an email address and a username. You don't have to reveal you location so you can play from anywhere in the world.
    • Player traffic at Nitrogen is brisk due to the popularity of their casino and sportsbook.
    • One confirmation is all that is required before you can take a seat at the poker tables. All deposits and withdrawals are processed free of charge.
    • In our experience, most payout requests are processed within a couple of hours.
    • You can play Heads-Up, 6-Max and Full Ring games 24/7.
    • Rake at Nitrogen ranges between 2% and 4%.

AMERICAS CARDROOM - NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA
    • If you want to play at a traditional poker room and just use bitcoin to make deposits and withdrawals then we would recommend Americas Cardroom. As the name suggests, they accepts players from the United States and every other country on the planet, including Australia.
    • This is a high-traffic poker room with plenty of action at all levels both day or night.
    • You cannot create an anonymous player account here. They will require you to provide personal information when you register.
    • The minimum bitcoin deposit you can make is $10 U.S. dollars.
    • You can play Omaha, 7 Card Stud, Hold'em and there's a ton of Sit N Go and Scheduled tournaments running throughout the day.
    • Bitcoin deposits/payouts are free but if you decide to use Visa, Mastercard or other traditional banking methods there is a fee.

PokerStars and PartyPoker have officially confirmed that they will no longer be servicing real money poker players from Australia by the middle of September 2017.

I'm gutted that Americas Cardroom is no longer available to Australian, it was my go to poker room because it was full of fishy players from America. I'll definitely give Ignition Poker a try because traffic at Nitrogen can be a little bit light at times.

  14. Ignition didn't just add Sit N Go tournaments to their app, you can now also play a wide variety of multi-table tournaments from your android or iphone in Australia. It blows Nitrogen Sports Poker out of the water and they accept bitcoin which is great.
