Is it safe to use a VPN at Nitrogen Sports and CloudBet?

    As some of you may already be aware, some popular bitcoin-only sportsbooks have started banning players from particular countries. CloudBet no longer accepts players from the United States, while Nitrogen Sports is no longer available in in countries like Ireland, Russia and the UK. A number of posters on this forum have mentioned that they use VPN's (Virtual Private Networks) like Tunnel Bear or Hide My Ass to get around these restrictions. What I'd like to know is how safe is it for gamblers to use these services? Are you likely to have your account frozen if you use a VPN at a crypto gambling site?

    I know PokerStars and Full Tilt have been pretty aggressive about blocking real money players from the United States. If they catch you logging in using a known VPN address, then they'll freeze your account and keep the funds so in my opinion it's not worth the risk.

    I have used a VPN occasionally at CloudBet since the blocked US players and I haven't had any problems. I don't think cryptocurrency gambling sites go to the same lengths that poker rooms like PokerStars go to because many poker rooms have already been shut-down and their directors have been prosecuted.

    Having said all that, I usually only deposit however much I need to place a bet and withdraw any winning immediately when I'm using a VPN.

    my guess is that they are not monitoring IP's that closely. they do sometimes require you to do some KYC when you make a withdrawal so you should be careful about that if you live in the united states.

    Nitrogen Sports have informed us that they only have restrictions on players from Spain and the United States. Occasionally they need to ban IP addresses from particular countries if their website comes under denial of service attacks but those are just temporary restrictions that last a few hours to a few days until the attacks subside. Unless you live in the USA or Spain, you should not need to use a VPN to access Nitrogen Sports 99% of the time.

    I’m from Italy, from where I cannot reach Cloubet (due to italian restrictions against foreigner betting company without licence). So a VPN would be neededto place bets on Cloudbet.
    What about if I’ll be asked to provide KYC from CLoubet (they ask for it from time to time)?
    I mean my ID document will say that I’m from Italy, but my IP address will not.
    Note: Italy is not currently one country geo-restricted from Cloudbet

    If CloudBet is only blocked by your Italian ISP and CloudBet don't have a problem with Italian players, then I think you are OK. Your Italian ID should be fine if they require KYC. Just to double check, you should use their Live Chat and verify with a customer support agent (you don't need to tell them you already have an account).

    Contacted them. They really do not accept the use of vpn's. I've been hiughly suggested not to use it.
    End of Cloudbet's adventure for me.
