Over the years we have gotten used to seeing companies adding bitcoin as a cashier option only to remove it again a few months later because of low usage. This is why it's heartening to read a success story where bitcoin made an instant and sizeable improvement to the popularity of an online gambling business. TonyBet is a Lithuanian betting site founded by professional poker player Antanas Guoga (aka Tony G). The popular gambling site recently added bitcoin as an option for both deposits and payouts and according to their spokesperson they saw a "dramatic increase in recreational punters and poker players especially from the Asian country's"

To facilitate bitcoin payments, TonyBet teamed up with a UK based e-wallet called SpectroCoin that will convert your crypto-currency in real-time as you play.

So far 2016 has been a very successful year for bitcoin gambling. Bitcoin-only gambling sites like Nitrogen Sports and FortuneJack have been gaining in popularity. What is even more encouraging is major fiat currency sportsbooks like Bovada and poker rooms like Americas Cardroom have also successfully introduced bitcoin as a cashier option.

TonBet does not accept players from the USA so it wouldn't have affected traffic from there. They got a big boost in players from Asian because many Asian countries also have very restrictive policies when it comes to online gambling.
