Crypto-exclusive SwC Poker has had a difficult few years. The sites original founder Bryan Micon was arrested and pled guilty to running an unlicensed online poker room from his home in Las Vegas back in 2015. The site later changed its name from Seals With Clubs to SwC Poker and relaunched with the same poker software. The main attraction of the poker room was that it allowed poker players to anonymously join and deposit with bitcoin, which attracted a lot of players from countries like the United States where sites like PokerStars and PartyPoker were banned. However, despite the recent cryptocurrency boom, SwC Poker has failed to attract significant traffic because major offshore poker sites like Americas Cardroom and Bovada Poker began to accept a variety of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin. These sites also welcomed USA-based poker players but they had the added advantage of having top class software and they were members of high-traffic poker networks. SwC Poker continued to trudge along with approximately 100 online players and we wondered if the bitcoin poker room would survive in such a competitive environment.

The more options the better when it comes to bitcoin gambling so we are glad to see that SwC Poker have recently improved their poker software and relaunched a completely new version for a variety of devices. Here's a quick overview of the new SwC Poker software.
    • The new SwC Poker desktop client is available for both Mac and PC.
    • Android poker players can download a native poker app, while iPhone and iPad users can use the new HTML5 client that will work from any browser.
    • The lobby has been completely redesigned to make it easier to navigate between cash games, Sit & Go tournaments and Multi-Table Tournaments.
    • New features like Bad Beat Jackpot and tournament satellites have been added. guaranteed prize pool tournaments are also now available.
    • Play Texas Hold'em, Omaha and Stud poker games for bitcoin on any device.
    • Enjoy lower rake than any of the traditional poker rooms.
    • Poker players from Australia, the United States of America and the United Kingdom are still welcome.

I'm glad that Seals With Clubs has managed to survive and hopefully this update to their poker software will allow them to prosper also. I think there should be more cryptocurrency-only poker sites that allow you to play anonymously. While it's great that BetOnline and Bovada Poker now accept bitcoin, when you try to make your first withdrawal they will likely ask you to provide AML and KYC information, which is not ideal. Someday these major online poker rooms will get hacked and everybody's bitcoin records will be public. If bitcoin is trading at $50,000+ that could cause problems.

I never though playing at BetOnline or Americas Cardroom could be a security risk but I guess you're right. Your address, photo and bitcoin transactions could be leaked. Another reason so keep balances small.

When BetCoin Poker was still operational they were able to connect to the Winning Poker Network for tournaments. That brought in a far bigger player pool than any crypto-exclusive poker site every could because major poker sites like BetOnline were also on the WPN. I'd love to see SwC do something similar and be able to connect to a major tournament pool to boost their traffic.

What good news. I think it will make regular players very happy. It's so cool when poker software developers make changes and improve the software. I, as a real fan of online casinos and poker games, know what I'm saying. And the introduction of the possibility of paying with cryptocurrency brings me special joy. I think that in the future all online casinos will introduce such a payment option. I look forward to updates. I am already looking forward to the pleasure with which I will play my favorite game.
