I hope Bovada/Bodog do not replace Bitcoin with Bitcoin Cash

I've been using bitcoin to fund my poker and sports betting accounts for the past year and I have to say that it has made my life a lot easier. No more waiting weeks for checks to arrive or paying extortionate fees to deposit with a credit card at poker sites. After reading this article on CalvinAyre.com I am starting to get worried that Bitcoin BTC will be replaced by Bcash on sites like Bodog. I think this would be a huge mistake because there are often many hours between mined blocks on the BCC chain. It would also lead to huge confusion and loss of funds as many poker players and sports bettors are not going to know the difference between BTC and BCC and will end up send their bitcoin to a bitcoin cash address and visa versa.

I really think the last thing that the gambling community needs right now is this type of confusion.

I don't think Bodog or Bovada would be that stupid. I think it's likely that they will add Bitcoin Cash (BCH) support in addition to Bitcoin (BTC) support but I can't see them completely removing the legacy chain. That would cause a huge amount of confusion and lost funds.

It's worrying that Calvin Ayre is haning out with these two...

  4. bitcoincash is being propped up now by money from bitmain and roger ver. they are probably hoping that the price will pump before the segwit2x fork and they'll be able to dump then.

the price pumped to over $2,000 dollars last week although it has dropped back to $1,200 now. i can't figure out of jihan wu really believes in this or if it's just a way for him to make easy money.

personally i don't have a problem with any sportsbook supporting an alt coin as long as they continue to support bitcoin.

it was inevitable that bovada would add support for bcash. most offshore gambling operators will eventually support dozens of cryptocurrencies. next i expect them to add support for litecoin, ethereum, dogecoin, monero and zcash.

I don't think they are that stupid. It would cause a huge amount of confusion and result in Bovada sportsbook and poker players losing millions of dollars. The sooner they rename Bitcoin Cash to Bitcash the better it will be for everyone.

Once a Lightning Network app for Android and iPhone is released, all this Bitcoin Cash silliness will disappear.

i can't even find a mention of bitcoin cash on the bodog website even though it's calvin ayre's company and he's one of the biggest backers of bch.

There are virtually no transactions being made on their BCH or BSV. It's far more likely that Bovada and Bodog will replace Bitcoin Cash with Lightning Network transactions.
