Crypto currency gambling has been one of the major success stories in online gambling over the past 3 years. For example, Bookmaker.eu recently revealed that over 90% of their customers now use bitcoin to fund their accounts and they expected this number to rise 2018 and 2019. That is why we were so surprised to read a recent report from a Russian bookmaker called PariMatch which makes the claim that cryptocurrency depositors don't actually gamble.

According to an executive at the Russian licensed gambling site, only about 20% of their customers who have deposited using bitcoin have actually placed a wager with the cryptocurrency. This has led the company to believe that many Russian's are actually using PariMatch primarily as a crypto wallet.

Can anyone else think of a reason why Russian gamblers are not using their crypto to gamble?

Maybe none of the major wallets like breadwallet or Samurai are translated into Russian so most Russians prefer to use this bookmaker?

it definitely does seem to be a uniquely russian problem. most of my friends who deposit at gambling sites definitely gamble with their crypto.

Maybe this Russian sportsbooks is just shit and crypto depositors only realise it once they've made a deposit.

Maybe they are all just waiting for the Russian World Cup to start wagering.

  6. Correct, I bet all of those accounts will be used in the next month.

I was listening to a bitcoin podcast recently where one of the guests mentioned that a bitcoin casino owning friend said that many of the casinos customers deposit money in the casino but never gamble. I think they do this as a means to mix or clean dodgy bitcoin. They deposit and hope that when they withdraw weeks or months later that they will receive different bitcoins that don't have a checkered past.

If you want to clean your bitcoin so their source is untraceable by law enforcement then you should use Wasabi wallet. It mixes your coins with the coins of other people who are using the wallet, giving you plausible deniability at the least. https://wasabiwallet.io
