All the major bookmakers in the UK like Bet365, Ladbrokes or William Hill will reduce the amount you can bet if you win too much. Two different bookies reduced my maximum bet to £5, which is a nice way of saying get lost and gamble somewhere else. Does the same thing happen with bitcoin bookies? Will they close your account if you're too successful?
Since most bitcoin-only sportsbooks like CloudBet, Nitrogen Sports and Betcoin allow players to create anonymous betting accounts, it would be difficult for them to permanently ban a player since they would be free to register again with a different username. Bookies like Ladbrokes and William Hill have a KYC process so it's much easier for them to ban sports bettors who win a lot.
Since traditional fiat currency sportsbooks still require you to endure a KYC/AML procedure there is a very good chance professional gamblers will get banned, even if they choose to bank with BTC.
carbon poker accept bitcoin and since last year they have been banning grinders from their tables or limiting them to just playing at 1 table. carbon used to be a top poker room to make a few dollars but now it's strictly for recreational players.
Most bitcoin gambling sites aren't regulated so I guess they can do whatever they want. If you make a ton of money at a bitcoin sportsbook, what is stopping them from confiscating your winnings and kicking you off their book? Is there any licensing body you can complain to?
Most online gambling sites are only as good as their reputation and if they start to stiff players, word will spread fast. If anyone is experiencing problems with any bitcoin sportsbook or casino, one of the best first things you can do is visit their Facebook page and complain in the comments because this is very visible to other players. I would also kick up a fuss on forums like this because they will not want other players to think they are scammers. Some crypto-gambling sites are licensed and regulated so it's worth contacting the relevant gaming commissions also.
... this thread is a good reminder to never leave too much crypto at any gambling site because they may exit scam or try to screw you if the price goes wayyyy up....
i got my account limited at both bet365 and bwin in the past but i've never had a problem at crypto bookmakers, even after i've had a very good winning streak.
You might not get banned but you need to make sure that you are not gambling from a restricted country. Just this week a U.S. based sports bettor using CloudBet had problems withdrawing 330 BTC (over 1 million dollars) because CloudBet does not permit U.S. gamblers. Never use a VPN because you might still be asked to provide KYC / AML documents when you want to make a withdrawal. If you are U.S. based then you night not get your BTC. Luckily for the US-based CloudBet gambler, they eventually gave him his money https://forum.bitcoingambling.io/threads/cloudbet-refuse-to-payout-330-btc-to-customer.494/
