I rarely bet more than a couple of hundreds bucks on any game but I'm curious about the maximum betting limits at bitcoin bookmakers. How do they compare to regular fiat currency online sportsbooks?

I presume you are asking about bitcoin-only sportsbooks here rather than bitcoin friendly sites like Bovada or Betonline. I think there's little doubt right now that they two biggest BTC sports betting sites are CloudBet and Nitrogen Sports. They are currently duking it out for the number 1 position so they are going to have the most liquidity necessary for accepting large wagers.

    CLOUDBET - CLOUDBET.COM
    • Bet up to 120 BTC on games from the NFL, NBA, EPL, NHL and other major leagues.
    • Maximum betting limits increase as you get closer to the event as liquidity improves.
    • The site doesn't list the max bet beside each sport but if you try to place a wager larger than the maximum permitted bet, your stake will be reduced to the max bet limit.
    • CloudBet is the best bitcoin bookmaker for high-rollers.

    NITROGEN SPORTS - NITROGENSPORTS.EU
    • Bet up to 20 BTC on regular games in the NBA, NFL, NCAAF and more.
    • Limits are displayed next to each event on the site so there is no confusion.
    • Bet limits increase significantly for major sporting events.

What's the typical bet limit for your average NFL or College Football game?

For the average College Football games the max bet at Nitrogen Sports is about 5 BTC. For a major NFL games it could be as high as 20 or 30 BTC.

CloudBet made headlines for Super Bowl XLIX when they offered bets of up to 1000 BTC. You have to bear in mind that bitcoin was only worth about $200 back in 2015 so it's not as crazy as it first sounds.

  8. have btc bet limits dropped over the past year given that the price of a single bitcoin has jumped from $1,000 to almost $5,000?

Many crypto sportsbooks do not list their bet limits in their FAQ because of this reason I think. Many ask that you email them if you'd like to increase your betting limits. Current limits should cater to 95% of casual gamblers.

it's probably pointless saying what the max bets are in bitcoin because the price fluctuates so wildly. in december the btc price was $19,000 and then it dropped to $6,000 in january so it probably makes more sense to max bets in US dollars. i'm sure the crypto bookies change the max bet limits depending on how much a bitcoin is worth.

  11. what kind of betting limits do bitcoin friendly sportsbooks like bovada and betonline have? are the betting limits the same for those who deposit with bitcoin or dollars?

it doesn't matter whether you deposit with credit cards or crypto because everything gets converted into dollars anyway at 5dimes, betonline, bodog etc. i think betonline cater more for professional gamblers so my guess is they have very high betting limits. if the betting limits aren't high enough for you from the website, you can phone them and speak to an account manager who will probably accept even higher limit bets.
