BetOnline are the latest major gambling operator to leave Australia due to new anti-gambling regulations. Major brands like PokerStars, PartyPoker, Pinnacle and 888Poker have already exited from Australia, however, we hoped that BetOnline would remain in Australia because they accepted Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dash and Ethereum so they weren't reliant on the Aussie financial system to process their transactions. BetOnline are Panamana based and have an international gambling license, however, sportsbooks operating in Australia are now required to hold and Australian licence. Poker and casino gambling has been completely banned under the draconian legislation.

The good news for gamblers in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and anywhere in Australia is that there are still poker rooms, bookmakers and casinos that are happy to take your business. Here are out recommendations.

BEST AUSTRALIAN POKER ROOM & CASINO - WWW.IGNITIONCASINO.EU
One of the biggest problems with crypto-only poker rooms is that they lack substantial player traffic. That is not the case with Ignition Casino because they share the same player pool as both Bodog and Bovada so real-money poker player down under have the opportunity to play against players in the United States and Canada. Ignition also use the same quality poker software as these two major poker rooms so you are guaranteed a great playing experience. Ignition accepts both Bitcoin and runs regular cryptocurrency promotions.

BEST AUSSIE FRIENDLY SPORTSBOOK - WWW.NITROGENSPORTS.EU
Despite Australian regulators shutting down home grown crypto bookies like Neds, sports bettors in Australia can still gamble with bitcoin at Nitrogen Sports. Nitrogen Sports is the oldest and biggest cryptocurrency sportsbook and they offer lines on Aussie Rules, cricket, rugby, tennis and every popular sport in Australia. You sign-up instantly without having to go though any KYC.

i always associate aussies with being big brawlers, boozers and gamblers so i'm quiet surprised that they are cracking down so hard on online gambling, especially at a time when the united states are relaxing their gambling lows. i guess these things swing like a pendulum and the next australian government will move in the opposite direction and loosen the laws on gambling.

why are betonline not afraid of the united states government and are scared silly by the australian government. i would have thought their management would be far more likely to end up in an american jail.

Do BetOnline do KYC and AML on cryptocurrency withdrawals?

Yes, I'm pretty sure they do so don't use a VPN. If you just want to play online poker and don't expect to withdraw any money then it might be safe to use a VPN but I still wouldn't recommend it. Just play at Ignition and then you don't need to worry.
