I'm always on the look out for a decent crypto-only poker room but most bitcoin poker sites like Nitrogen Sports or Seals With Clubs have very low traffic. A new crypto poker room called CoinPoker caught my attention recently because they partnered with the Asian Poker Tour (APT) to run a satellite tournament. My heart sank a little when I check their website however and discovered that they were an ICO, which usually means SCAM! Their site is also full of buzzwords like "smart contracts" and "blockchain technology" which makes me warey. I also have zero intention of buying a specific token called CHP in order to play a few hands of texas holdem when I could just as easily use bitcoin, litecoin or ethereum at other poker room. When I dug a little further I discovered that they had gotten themselves into a bit of controversy recently when a well known poker writer called Alex Weldon did some investigating and found that there was some very unusual activity at the tables and the volume of traffic was greatly inflated. This lead him to believe that the site traffic is mainly as a result of bots, as many players with the same name was playing at dozens of tables simultaneously. You have been warned!!
