I read an article recently about how a new Ethereum casino was planning to have 0 house edge on their casino games. This left me confused because they didn't explain how the casino expected to make any money. I presume developing games costs $$$ so how are they going to cover their costs and pay developers.

Good question. Maybe they act like bitcoin exchanges that have zero fees for trading but charge you to make a withdrawal?

If these zero edge casinos are built on Ethereum then they probably won't work and you won't be able to withdraw your money so maybe that's how they make a profit.

they make money by launching ICO's for millions of dollars to fund their stupid projects and then they disappear.

It appears that the Edgeless ethereum casino has been hacked and they've lost all their money.

I feel bad for those people who lost funds but it was stupid to keep so much in one wallet. Hardware wallets like Trezor and Ledger now support ether also.

Many of these ICOs seem to be run by con-artists so I wouldn't be surprised if some of these hacks were inside jobs. Don't leave your cryptocurrency anywhere you don't 100% trust.

zero-edge casinos are a fantasy that were designed to pump ICO's. they were never going to actually develop a working site beyond a prototype. casinos have to make a profit because the only way to get people to play there is by paying for advertising or having an affiliate program. the notion of zero edge is idiotic.
