A few years ago bitcoin wallets and exchanges were not allowed to list their apps in the iTunes App Store. What a difference a couple of years makes as Apple have now integrated the bitcoin wallet into iMessage for iPhone. If you have a Circle account you can now send bitcoin, dollars, sterling or euros in the same way as you send a text message. This service is free and instant.

Circle have quickly become one of the most popular wallets for bitcoin gamblers because it allows you to quickly and cheaply transfer your BTC to your bank account. While it seems unlikely that bitcoin sportsbooks and poker rooms will be allowed use this feature, it is a huge leap forward in the adoption process for crypto-currencies.

I'm not a huge fan of bitcoin wallets that require KYC and AML but I agree that being able to send crypo-currencies as easily as you would send an emoji has to be a positive development for the ecosystem.

I would be wrong but I don't see any of those wallets being integrated into iMessage in the near future because Apple will not want to be accused of facilitating dodgy payments to dark markets or terrorists. My guess is that they will only deal with companies like Circle and Coinbase who have very strict AML and KYC procedures.

You have been able to send bitcoin via the Telegram app for a couple of years now.

Yes. If you have an iPhone or Android you can download the Telebit bitcoin wallet apps.

It seems have left the bitcoin space but not before their CEO Jeremy Allaire did a whiney rage quit against Core developers. I just wish this big VC companies would stop blaming bitcoin for their own failures.

The Barry Silbert blocksize increase agreement had Circle as a signatory so it seems they are still in the bitcoin space.

These seems like a pretty cool feature that might be used if a more popular wallet than Circle introduced. Do Mycelium or Airbitz offer iMessage integration?
