Someone should develop a bitcoin Pokemon Go app

    I don't really understand why half the planet is wandering around looking for virtual Pokemon that have no intrinsic value. What if everyone who downloads the Pokemon Go app had to pay some bitcoin into a massive prize-pool every week and then are were rewarded with huge bitcoin prize if you catch a rare Pokemon. Now that would be exciting.

    If each Pokemon was worth a little bit of bitcoin then that is a game I would download. Wouldn't it be deemed online gambling though if you had to deposit money to play?

    Yes in all likelihood it would be considered gambling and would never be allowed into Google Play or the iTunes App Store. HTML5 browser-based apps are getting more sophisticated so it would be impossible for Google and Apple to stop one of these apps.

    this is a great idea. imagine the carnage in parks around the world if people thought certain pokemon containted 10 btc.

    888sports have already developed a "Free Bet" app that allows you to collect free bets outside Premier League football stadiums in the UK in the same way you would collect Pokemon. Surely a bitcoin version can't be too far in the future.

    apple would probably ban this kind of app from the itunes app store because because they consider it gambling.

    I thought most of the people cashing Pokemon's were idiots but I gotta admit if bitcoin starting randomly appearing around the world, I'd be the first person running around parks at the weekend.
