One question we keep getting asked is "when will the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB leagues return after the coronavirus lockdowns?" This is quiet a difficult question to answer because dates keep shifting but here is the latest information we have.... NFL FOOTBALL The National Football League (NFL) Preseason starts on August 13th this year with a game between the Colts and the Eagles. The regular NFL season is due to start on September 10th 2020. There are no plans to bring back fans at the current moment. NBA BASKETBALL The Disney sports complex outside Orlando will be the home of the NBA for the 2020/2021 season. All games will be played there and the complex will function as a sterile bubble where the teams will safely compete. NBA games are due to start on July 31st. NHL HOCKEY While nothing has been set in concrete yet with regard to the return of the hockey league, it looks like 24 teams will return to their training camps on the 13th of July. All the games will take place in a select small group of hub cities and qualifying games will likely start on August 1st. MLB BASEBALL Major League Baseball are planning to open their training camps on July 1st. Unlike the NBA who will play in "bubbles", MLB teams will play games from their own ballparks and are due to start the league on either July 23rd or 24th. I was hoping the NFL preseason would kick off this month but unfortunately it's been cancelled to reduce the risk of infection. We'll just have to wait until next month when the main season kicks off. I'm so looking forward to being able to watch football again.
