Which bitcoin wallet has the best dynamic fee calculator?

I've been using the Airtbiz wallet on my iPhone to make gambling related transactions. I like Airbitz because you have total custody of your bitcoin and they don't track transactions so you can deposit at any sportsbook or casino without having to worry about them shutting your account.

The wallet also dynamically calculates the correct fee when I want to make a transfer. It works pretty well most of the time and my transactions usually gets confirmed within 10 minutes but there have been a few occasions where it has taken over an hour. Which btc wallet has the best dynamic fee calculator for times when you simply have to get your transactions included in the next block?

I use Breadwallet for iOS and it works pretty good at estimating the correct fee most of the time. I just wish it had a "High Priority" fee option for the occasional transaction that you really need to get included in the next block.

I like how the Trezor wallet lets you set priority transactions that will have high enough fees to guarantee inclusion in the next block. Even without checking the "Priority" checkbox I find the Trezor fee calculator to be pretty good.

The fee calculator of the Mycelium Android app works pretty good for me. I don't know why so many people say the transaction fee is over $0.10 now. I usually pay 5 or 6 cent and it's included in the next block.

In last weeks spam attack on the bitcoin network when there were thousands of unconfirmed transactions in the mempool, the BreadWallet fee calculator didn't work very well for me. I had to wait in excess of 12 hours for one btc transaction to get included. I wish they would add a "Priority" option for these type of fee events that allows you to double the normal fee.

GreenWallet is great because you can accept the default fee, add your own. You can also connect your wallet app to a full node for additional security.

I have found the fee calculator of the new LedgerWallet Nano S to be pretty reliable.

It should be noted that the transaction backlog in the memepool has decreased recently and it's not far cheaper and faster to send transactions that it was a month ago.

You could try the https://bitcoinfees.21.co fee calculator.

Most wallet fee calculators are terrible. Over the summer when there were no transactions in the memepool, I was still paying a couple of dollars to make a small transaction with some wallets.

According to Dr Adam Back we are paying too much in fees for transactions, which is needlessly increasing the price. Here is his suggestion for anyone not in a rush...

copay has the worst fee calculator of any bitcoin wallet. their fees are 5 - 10 times what they should be. bitpay developed the copay wallet and since bitpay is now partially owned by bitmain, the bigger the fees, the more jihan wu and other chinese miners make.

Yes, the CEO of BitPay and Copay Tony Gallippi is completely clueless. Their wallet charges 10x the correct fee and as a result he can't even manage to send a transaction.

Avoid BitPay and anything to do with them at all costs.

Personally, I use the GreenAddress wallet from Blockstream because it allows you to set your own fee and it also offers Replace-By-Fee that allows you to increase the fee you have paid if it's not going though fast enough for you.

Hopefully we'll all be using iOS and Android Lightning Network wallets in another year and talk of fee calculators will be a thing of the past.
