Here are the rake rates for the top 3 bitcoin poker rooms...

    NITROGEN SPORTS - NITROGENSPORTS.EU
    Standard Tables - 1% to 4%
    Heads-Up Tables - 1% to 4%
    Reward Program - 10% to 40% rakeback

    BOVADA POKER - BOVADA.LV
Standard rake of 5% on all games

    AMERICAS CARDROOM - AMERICASCARDROOM.EU
The rake is 5% and capped at a maximum of $3.

What about the rake at bitcoin poker sites like Seals With Clubs, Lucky Flop and BitsPoker?

Unfortunately, LuckyFlop closed a few months ago.

Rake at Seals with Clubs is 1.5% to 2.5%, which is pretty low. Unfortunately traffic has really dropped at this once popular bitcoin-only poker site due to more competition in the marketplace. Sometimes there is less that 10 real money players at the tables so it's not really worth downloading the client.

Betonline accept bitcoin alright but they also force you to pay a 6.5% deposit fee for the privilege of using BTC. I'd rather lose my money to rake than at the cashier.

Bitspoker charge 2% rake on all types of ring games. They also don't collet rake on hands that don't make it to the flop.

What is the rake at BetOnline for bitcoin poker?

BetOnline is a fiat currency poker room. When you make a deposit there, your BTC instantly appears as dollars in your account at whatever the exchange rate is on that day. Because of this, all BetOnline players pay the same rake regardless of how they made their deposit. Rake at BetOnline is typically 5% of the pot.

the poker rake at bovada used to be 4%. i wonder why they increased it to 5% following the ignition casino rebrand? if they are trying to convince players to made the move from bovada over to ignition, you would have thought they would have kept the rake at 4% for 6 months at least.

Operating an online poker room in the United States is an extremely risky business. Operators of US-facing poker rooms can find themselves in jail or have all their assets frozen pretty easily. Considering the risks involved I'm not that surprised that they charge a slight premium. Real money poker players in the United States also have fewer choices so I guess they are also willing to pay a little bit extra to find a network with lots of traffic.

Seals With Clubs recently reduced the rake they charge because the price of bitcoin has risen so much.
