Last year (2022) was a bit of a disaster for me on the cryptocurrency front, because I lost more money storing my crypto at sites like FTX, BlockFi and Celsius than I did at any casino or sportsbook. I lost close to $10,000 which was very painful because I thought these sites were really safe. I'm wondering if anyone else was stupid enough to lose money on these scam sites?
I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience last year using crypto but I can assure you, that you are not alone. I personally know about a dozen people who lost money on FTX and BlockFi. I lost over $10,000 in FTX. I got completely fooled into thinking Sam Bankman-Fried was a genius. After seeing the Super Bowl commercial with Larry David, why would you think it was just a ponzi. I'm hoping one day I'll get a percentage back at least.
i was keeping half of my bitcoin on blockfi because i keep hearing it recommended on popular bitcoin podcasts like the pomp podcast and the peter mccormack podcast "what bitcoin did" so i presumed it must be safe. big mistake. i'm hoping i'll get a fraction back someday when bankruptcy proceedings finish.
